Q: Do I get a new card each year or semester?

A: No. Unless your card is lost, stolen or worn out, you do not receive a new card each year. Our system automatically updates your information from semester to semester. There is a replacement fee for any lost, stolen or damaged cards.

Q: Is it OK if I allow someone else to use my card for any reason?

A: No. Your WyoOne ID card is non-transferable. It is your personal campus identification and only you should use it. If a cashier or reader attendant discovers that it is not you using the card, they may retain the card. You will then have to pay the replacement fee to have it replaced. In addition, it is against the student code of conduct to portray yourself as someone else. If you are caught using someone else's WyoOne ID, disciplinary action can be taken by the Dean of Students office.

Q: Why is the item not checked on my WyoWeb list even though I have my WyoOne ID?

A: If your photo was denied or you got your photo taken at the WyoOne ID Office, it will not automatically check off this task from your list in WyoWeb. Having this task as still pending will not affect your ability to do anything within WyoWeb, like registering for classes, accepting financial aid, or viewing transcripts. Once the semester begins, this task will be removed from your to-do list.

Q: What is the difference between the Campus Dollars (C$) and Dining Dollars (D$) accounts?

A: The Campus Dollars (C$) debit style account is used at retail locations (e.g. University Store and Copy Center) in addition to all food service locations on campus. For food/vending purchases, the retailer will attempt to pull money from the Dining Dollars (D$) account first and then use Campus Dollars (C$) for any remaining balance for that food/vending purchase. This account rolls over semester to semester.

The Dining Dollars (D$) debit style account is designed specifically for individuals with meal plans through one of the dining halls and may be used only at food outlets and vending machines on campus. Some money is added by RLDS as the beginning of a semester depending on the type of meal plan and other funds may be added at the RLDS website. Please see Campus $$ or Dining $$ locations for a complete list of areas that accept these debit style accounts.

Remember - neither of the debit accounts allow cash withdrawals or off-campus purchases.

Q: What is the convenience fee, and how will it show on my credit card statement?

A: As of July 1, 2017 card users will be assessed a non-refundable convenience fee of $.30 per transaction when making a deposit through the UWID website.

Q: Why is there a convenience fee?

A: The costs associated with processing credit/debit cards continues to grow each year, and unfortunately the WyoOne ID Office cannot continue to absorb those costs. The fee was approved by the University's Board of Trustees as of Fiscal Year 18 and is shown in the UW Fee Book. Many other private and public universities have been charging credit card convenience fees for quite some time.

Q: Is the convenience fee refundable?

A: No, even if the deposit which it relates to is canceled, refunded, credited or charged back, the convenience fee is non-refundable.
