Q: Where do I get my Wiscard (university ID)?
A: The Wiscard Office is located on the first floor of Union South, 1308 W Dayton St. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 5 PM.

A: Any student, faculty, staff, or affiliate with a valid Wiscard.

A: All you need to do is register online and make a deposit into your account or stop by the Wiscard Office at Union South.

Q: What should I do if my ID card is lost or stolen?
A: Deactivate your card immediately by logging into the Wiscard account management site and clicking on Lost/Stolen Card. You may also report your card lost to the Wiscard Office in Union South, the Memorial Union Cashier's Office, or any University Housing residence hall desk.

Q: How much money should I put into my account?
A: The minimum deposit is just $10 for the Campus Cash and Housing Food accounts. If you plan to purchase textbooks and school supplies with Campus Cash, we recommend an initial deposit of at least $350. For students living in University residence halls, a deposit of $300 in the Housing Food account is suggested to begin the first semester.

Q: How can I be sure the deposit I made on the website was successful?
A: You will receive a confirmation when the deposit has been completed. The cardholder can also log in and review their account balance and transaction history online at any time.

Q: How do I know how much money is left in my account?
A: Each time a purchase is made the receipt will show your remaining balance. You can also check your balance and transaction history online.

Q: Can I transfer money from one Wiscard account to another?
A: Transfers can be made from the Campus Cash account to a meal account only. Contact the Wiscard Office located on the 1st floor of Union South. Housing residents should visit their residence hall desk if they need to make a transfer into their Housing Food Account.

Q: Can I withdraw money from my account?
A: Wiscard accounts are not redeemable for cash.

Q: Why don't I see all of my previous transaction history?
A: The Wiscard web site displays the past 6 months of transaction history for any open accounts. To get a report showing prior account activity you can send a request to wiscard@union.wisc.edu. Requests must originate from the account holder's campus email address. The request should include the 10 digit ID number and the specific date range you want to receive.

Q: What happens to my account balance at the end of the year?
A: Students will automatically receive a refund for a Housing Food account if the balance is $20 or greater; balances less than $20 will be transferred to Campus Cash. Union Meal accounts are also transferred to Campus Cash at the end of the contract term. Any money remaining in your Campus Cash account will automatically carry forward from semester to semester.

Q: How do I close my Wiscard account?
A: Complete the Close Account and Refund form located on the Wiscard Account Management site. You may also visit the Wiscard Office located in Union South. A refund check will be issued within 2-3 weeks if your balance is greater than $2 after a $10 administrative fee is deducted.
