Your Georgetown College ID card, the G-Card, is your photo id-card, library card and dining hall access card.

You need your G-Card for printing, eating in the cafeteria, using the copy machines on campus, Checking out books from the library, etc.

Every semester, you get Tiger $$ (or Grille money) on your G-Card. You can use them in The C-Store, The Grille, and Starbucks (on-campus). For more information, go to Tiger $$.


Printing

Full time undergraduate students get 100 free printed pages every spring and fall semester. Graduate students get 50 free printed pages every spring and fall semester. After that, you need to use money from your G-Card to print documents.

You need your G-Card in order to print a document if you are going to use the library (Anna Ensor Learning Resource Center) or the Asher Science computer lab for printing.

Q: Who uses the G-Card?

A: All Georgetown College students, faculty and staff are issued a G-Card.

Q: Why do I need a G-Card?

A: It is your Georgetown College ID Card and is required to access the dining hall and to use copy machines and to access any other G-Card ready machines.

Q: How do I use my G-Card?

A: All locations accepting the card have a "wedge" reader which reads the magnetic stripe on the back of the card.

Q: Is my account balance stored on the card?

A: No. Just like an ATM or bank card, only the account identification information is stored on the card. Each wedge reader is on-line to the College computer system, which holds your balance information.

Q: If I'm on the student meal plan, how do I use the G-Card?

A: The G-Card is used for access to the dining hall. Students without their card will be denied access. All students on the meal plan receive Tiger$$ to be used at various food locations on campus.

Q: How do I get money into my G-Card flexible spending account?

A: You can deposit funds via our secure website. We accept MasterCard, American Express and Discover. There will be a convenience fee.

Alternatively, complete an orange deposit form and return it to the G-Card Office along with your check or cash. Please do not send cash through the mail.

You can also make a G-Card deposit by visiting the basement of the Cralle Student Center and using the Value Transfer Station. The Value Transfer Station (VTS) is located next to Campus Mail Services. The VTS will allow you to make cash deposits to your G-Card anytime the Student Center is open. The VTS also has a balance inquiry feature and will print a receipt for you.
