Q: Where can I use my ACCESS card?
A: You can use your ACCESS card as a campus key providing you access to campus residence halls, computer labs, athletic facilities and more. We automatically give you a personalized card so that the right doors open for you. The ACCESS card can also be used for library privileges allowing you to check out books and use specialized computer labs in the University library and Heafey Law library. The ACCESS card can be used as a debit credit account by activating one of the ACCESS card debit account options: Flex Account, Dining Plus Plan and the Resident Dining Plan. Q: How do I open or “activate” a Flex Account?
A: You can open or activate a Flex Account by simply making a deposit and conveniently use your ACCESS card instead of cash.

Q: What is the difference between my Flex Account and my Dining Plus Plan?
A: A Flex Account is more flexible. Your Flex Account acts as a debit card at over 200 locations. You can purchase food on and off campus, as well as make photocopies and purchase books using Flex. Dining Plus saves you 9.25% each time you eat on campus, but is only accepted at on campus dining locations.

Q: Can I withdraw money from my Flex Account?
A: You may not withdraw money from a Flex Account. An unused Flex Account balance is refundable at graduation, withdrawal, or separation.

Q: Does my Flex Account expire?
A: Flex Account balances carry over from quarter to quarter, year to year.

Q: Where can I use my free printing allotment?
A: Your free printing allotment can be used on campus at any printing machine with an ACCESS Card Reader and selection screen; you just simply swipe and select. Your remaining balance will show up on the selection screen. Almost all on campus specialized computer labs within residential halls and University buildings have printers.

Q: Can I lend my ACCESS card to another person for any reason?
A: No; you may not lend your ACCESS card to another person for any reason. It may be confiscated and retrievable only from the Office of Student Life.

Q: My card looks worn; do I have to pay to replace it?
A: You may surrender your active, valid card that was issued more than one year ago and receive a new card for free. There is a $5 fee to replace a damage card that is less than one year old.

Q: I need access to the Engineering Design Center what should I do?
A: Only Engineering students have access to the Engineering Design Center. You may come by the ACCESS Card Office to request this privilege be added to your card.
